Research on energy optimization and alternatives is in the focus of ER&DI efforts, as major means of supporting energy transition to take place on a socially friendly and sustainable manner.
The creation of the Energy Institute of Uruguay (EIU) is a natural and spontaneous response to the challenging situation of the energy sector at the national, regional and global levels.
Investment is key engine for development, and probably specially applicable when referring to research on the energy sector.
Academy and professionals of the energy sector have at EIU an instrument able to facilitate the feasibility for realization of their research plans, training, development, certification and cooperation in energy projects at national and international level.
Professionals are intended to become associates of the EIU, thus having the opportunity to establish an operation base within the organization for realizing their energy projects. Said projects shall be subject to prior evaluation and approval upon appropriate presentation to the Board of Directors of the EIU.
EIU is oriented by a Board of Directors who provides the guidelines on the lines of work, priorities. The Board also takes cares of evaluating the proposals presented for research works.
Actions forces are based on cooperation agreements entered into with companies and/or individuals holding demonstrated interest in the energy sector, thru a significantly horizontal organization, where the specific aspects of each Project are administered by an associate professional of the corresponding area of the energy sector, which allows the EIU to count with appropriate response capabilities.
